Dream a Little Dream of Me
Short film I directed, designed and made the costume for, based on the character of Gayev from 'The Cherry Orchard' by Anton Chekhov.
I chose Magic Realism as my context, particularly Jan Saudek's visual language; which I found a perfect match for the decadent, familiar story with reminiscences of ingenuity and hope.
The protagonist is a grown Peter Pan, led to Neverwhere by his fruit drops and billiard games; so I created a heavy decadent texture for the top layer which contains the delicate colorful laser cut fantasy of his playfull childhood in it.
